After many e-mail exchanges, I met Heather in Starbucks to go over her contract. I don't always ask clients how they found me and/or why they chose me, but I'll never forget Heather telling me that one of the things she liked about me was that I carve out the time to really, genuinely get to know my clients. If I didn't have Starbucks dates, or I didn't otherwise make it a point to make sure there's time enough for us to have more than just the typical client-vendor relationship, this business would be essentially nothing like what it is for me. The relationships are everything to me, these friendships truly mean the world, and I'm grateful each time I find those perfect clients that agree on how important that is. It's truly a two-way street for this to work.

She told me a bit about her day and about her fiancé, Jon, and we got to know each other, and then we went our separate ways with plans to get together soon for their engagement session.  I remember meeting them out at Ashton Creek and having just recently been a second shooter for a wedding there, and I cannot tell you how excited I was to know I was lucky enough to know and be chosen to play such a special part of this day with this incredible couple, at this stunning venue. When I launched this business, those were seriously goals, and here I was.

Fast forward to their wedding day, it had poured down raining the whole day prior and all morning, and thankfully meteorologists aren't always correct because the chances of rain were high all. day. From my perspective, I knew we'd be okay with enough clear, bubble umbrellas, rain boots and some plastic camera bags, so I packed all my things and headed to the venue an hour early to make sure I was well prepared, with plenty of extra time, in the event we got a break in the rain. To all of our surprise, it didn't rain a single drop from the time I got there until I was laying in my bed to go to sleep, and the day truly couldn't have been more stunning.

The ceremony had already been moved to inside in preparation for a day full of rain, but the rockstar planner moved everything outside, I gave her my rain boots to borrow, and Heather got the outdoors ceremony of her dreams. It doesn't get any better than this one, and here are a few (okay, no, a ton) of my favorites from their day!

Thanks for following along on this little dream of mine.

XOXO,

Taylor
